Paul Saffo is a director at the Institute for the Future, a management consulting firm devoted to long-range planning and forecasting. He specializes in the long-term social and commercial impacts of new information technologies, advising Fortune 100 companies and government agencies.
Mr. Saffo's essays have appeared in a range of publications, including Business2.0, Fortune, The Harvard Business Review, The Los Angeles Times, Newsweek, The New York Times, and Wired. He is the author of Dreams in Silicon Valley and The Road From Trinity. He serves on several boards, including the Long Now Foundation board, the Business2.0 advisory board, and the Stanford Law School Advisory Council on Science, Technology and Society.
He was co-chair of the 2002 Innovation Awards presented by Economist Magazine and is a member of the Royal Swedish Academy of Engineering Sciences. In 1997 the World Economic Forum named him one of one hundred "Global Leaders for Tomorrow."
Mr. Saffo holds a B.A. from Harvard College, an LL.B. from Cambridge University, and a J.D. from Stanford Law School.
