Millennium Pharmaceuticals, Inc.
Gary Cohen has been with Millennium Pharmaceuticals since 1998. In 2002, he started a formal ethics initiative at Millennium to distinguish the company's ethical culture as one promoting absolute employee integrity toward patients and clinical trial participants, fellow employees, shareholders, and the public.
Before joining Millennium, Mr. Cohen was vice president and general counsel at Genzyme Transgenics (now GTC Biotherapeutics). Earlier, he spent five years with Genetics Institute's legal department. He also practiced law with Palmer and Dodge and served as a "foreign legal expert" with Yuasa and Hara, a law and patent firm in Tokyo.
Mr. Cohen co-authored a chapter in the new book Pharmacogenomics: Social, Ethical, and Clinical Dimensions, entitled "Intellectual Property and Commercial Aspects of Pharmacogenomics."
He has an undergraduate degree from Washington University in St. Louis and a law degree from Columbia University.
